Bickering
I escape from words that persue
But keep them
In the shade with me.
I am mild
Against your courtroom voice.
Journey with me in your mind
To our last parting.
We were flinging farewells;
My last word was a nauseated plea.
I will suppress what you responded.
God, who objected to your noise,
Was on my side
Whispering to my dust
To consort with me
So I could escape,
Being entangled there,
Verbally battered.
But keep them
In the shade with me.
I am mild
Against your courtroom voice.
Journey with me in your mind
To our last parting.
We were flinging farewells;
My last word was a nauseated plea.
I will suppress what you responded.
God, who objected to your noise,
Was on my side
Whispering to my dust
To consort with me
So I could escape,
Being entangled there,
Verbally battered.
